are not compatible with the version of R your using. You can also install and
use multiple versions of R and RStudio on your machine. It is very convenient
to have more than one R and RStudio version on your computer. It is easy to
swap them out on a project by project basis when one version is not working.
RStudio is one of several ways that you can work with R. The R website is
another. Finally, any other IDE can potentially work with R, but RStudio is

The script is being modified to set the working directory to
$user in RStudio. It is hard to
reproduce this issue without having your path configured differently than it
is on this machine. If you think that you see this behavior,
you need to check your path. We recommend looking for this path in a blog post
by Jenny Bryans, R has so many
ways to specify the working directory. See section 2 of her blog post for more

RStudio is a freeware integrated development environment (IDE) for R, which combines R’s statistical programming language into a single interactive toolset.
It is easy to use and well commented. RStudio runs R functions in the console, but RStudio also provides graphical displays for data and visualizations.
We have been using Biowulf to analyze large biological datasets that can neither be analyzed by a single desktop nor by an HPC cluster in a reasonable time frame. If you are wondering where your RStudio installation is, than you can access the file browser from the menu bar located in the top left corner of the GUI. Thats the area that says RStudio. Each time you install the GUI, a shortcut for accessing your files should automatically be added there. The menu bar is found in the upper left of the RStudio GUI. Click on the RStudio menu bar to access this feature.
Another useful feature of RStudio is that it can open any file that is double-clicked. In the above paragraph, I said that any file will work with RStudio. However, any file, even if you are using a high-end virus scanner, will be loaded into RStudio when double-clicked. If you are worried about seeing files that contain viruses, than the file browser is your friend. When it finds a virus-infected file, it will automatically prompt you not to open it.
In RStudio, you can use R-Studio’s search feature to find text and values in a file. To do so, click the tab located in the top left of the RStudio window. This tab should look like a magnifying glass. Click the magnifying glass to launch the search window. Enter the file name or some specific text in the search window, and then press the search button.
In this example, I would enter tmTheme I wrote a theme for RStudio. If its not installed, you are prompted to download it. When it finishes downloading, the theme is immediately applied to the entire RStudio window.

RStudio server was a separate application and desktop client. In the new release it’s a plug-in to R and is activated when you start RStudio (within
RStudio you’ll see a small green “RStudio Server” icon).
When RStudio starts, RStudio Server will run in the background waiting to accept R sessions. When you have R open in RStudio, simply open the Server menu and choose Start Server. This will create a R session and start RStudio Server. You’ll need to exit R before the server will actually return any R code.
The Server is the functionality at the heart of all the new RStudio functionality. When RStudio is started, the Server will first look for an existing session. A session is a copy of an R environment containing all the necessary packages for a specific R project. The user can create multiple sessions. When the user runs a new session, RStudio Server creates a new R session and copies all the environment variables and packages from the existing session into the new session.
The Server provides a few additional features. One is to recall sessions with the
reload() command. This allows you to recall a session of R code that you have been working on without having to start the session anew. Using

All in all, RStudio is a great option for analyzing and processing data. While it doesnt offer everything that you could ask for, its a solid open source alternative with great technical features.

What is R-Studio?
R-Studio is an integrated development environment for the R programming language, with limited support for other programming languages (including Python, bash, and SQL). In order to get started with RStudio, make sure you have a working version of R installed on your computer. If you prefer to install RStudio on your computer using the command line, type:
R-Studio is a free software application. On Windows, this is a Windows
native application. On Linux and Mac, there are open source alternatives such
as RStudio. RStudio is a great
IDE. It has excellent debugger, terminal integration, some wonderful
editing tools, and a graphing tool to produce nice looking scatterplots.
In RStudio, to interact with your code and your data, it is best to use the
RStudio editor. That means you are typing your code in a text area. If you
refer to the commands available in R, this is where you find them. This is
also where you modify the way your script runs, you may specify the paths to
data and where R will look for them, add libraries to use, and add packages
that will be made available to your script so that they can be used. To run
your script in RStudio, click on the Run Script button. Or,
if you want to run from the shell or an IDE, you can use the Run
R-Script button. This will open up the RStudio Script
Window which is where the script is currently being run.
When you run from RStudio, your R script is launched in the REPL. The
REPL is the short form of the name of the Read-Eval-Print loop.
The general idea is that you type your code in the RStudio editor, it is
evaluated, and the resulting value is placed in the REPL. In RStudio,
because you are typing in the editor, this is by default placed in the browser
window. In other development environments, the code is just a string and
executed in the R interpreter.

What is R-Studio good for?
R-Studio works well if you have data (e.g. files) that can be imported into the software and then processed. It allows the user to select, filter, sort, and recover data from a scan. It is not meant to recover all types of files, so if youve misplaced a document, for example, chances are it will not be found. If your data was created on a Mac or Linux computer, and you want to have a shot at finding it, R-Studio is probably not the tool you need. R-Studio does not know anything about operating systems, it doesnt care what application created your files, and it doesnt care about the filename. Its simple task is to extract data from all the files it finds in a scan. This means that data from the hard disk, USB memory sticks and other external drives will be scanned. Depending on the options in your scan, R-Studio might also list file fragments, since it knows that some files are divided into several pieces, and some files are too large to process all at once. If your file is several GB, however, chances are it will take some time to find all of its parts and file fragments. If the file fragment are listed, then you need to be able to prioritize the files, and to do this, the software needs to know how your data is named, and this is generally a problem.
