The debugger functionality has been enhanced in the new version of RubyMine to help you with creating, maintaining, and debugging Ruby code. Starting with this EAP you can run your Ruby code and debug it step by step. Use the new features of the debugger or enjoy the usual click-to-navigate experience. RubyMine now warns you when there are issues with the debugger in your code, and you can fix them right away! Weve also fixed issues in the previous debugger implementations, so if you are running an older version of Ruby (below 3.0), you should be able to debug your code in RubyMine just fine as well. No extra action is required, as the IDE will automatically suggest a suitable debugger implementation.

If the Settings Repository plugin was then used and configured to synchronize IDE settings using a public repository, these settings were published to the repository. The issue has been fixed in the following versions: 2019.1, 2018.3.5, 2018.2.8, and 2018.1.8.

JetBrains in 2022 has finally reached the point where the reaction to building a new version isn’t completely dogmatic “it’s a bit better than VS” (to quote a typical comment). It now has to look at the actual merits of different IDEs, and it’s one of the few that people are actually talking about (or, at least, not talking about how “evil” the competitors are and how “we are the best”).
